Gary Craig will go down in history for the invention of EFT and even more for the way he managed to deliver it to the world. It is amazing that in a short period of 10 years or so Gary has managed to get EFT so widely known and used across the globe. It was Gary's vision and genius that put this simple but powerful technique into the hands of the deserving masses to help fix their emotional problems.

It is a shock to hear Gary Craig say that he is retiring and closing www.emofree.com. He has been my idol since I first learned of EFT in 1997. I first learned of tapping from Roger Callahan's TFT (Thought Field Therapy). After discovering EFT I added this wonderful technique to my TFT workshops. I saw that teaching clients EFT empowered them to help themselves. Six months later I received a letter from Roger Callahan saying if I wanted to continue to be an approved TFT trainer I must sign a form agreeing never to tell a trainee about any other way of doing this work other than the TFT way.

For more than a decade I have had the great, good fortune of being able to participate on the ‘ground floor’ of the EFT Palace of Possibilities. I stumbled into EFT nearly ten years ago at a two-day workshop promoting four different body-mind therapy techniques. EFT was one of them. I remember sitting in a room with Gary and a bunch of my colleagues in San Francisco. There was all kind of discussion about how to proceed with getting EFT out to the world. As we sat around a table there were many ideas being bantered back and forth, mostly about the need to get research done so that EFT would be recognized by the “Professional” communities. We talked about how cost prohibitive research was but, darn, what a great tool we have to offer the world!

I first met Gary in Dallas in 2005, at his Serious Disease workshop. However, by then I felt I knew him intimately, having watched him for many hours on his videos. Once upon a time... well no not really 'a time' more like 'all time'. In a land far away.... well no, not a land, or a place more like everywhere. So, lets start again... always upon all time everywhere, consciousness which is all that is and is not of everything witnessed a singularity that manifested as a moment of earth time in a place called California. A singular moment of earth time that changed all subsequent earth time. Collective consciousness incarnate upon the blue planet had evolved in its time through mysticism, religion, more religion, science and more science. The planet was divided like the brain organs of the incarnate souls upon it into right and left or east and west hemispheres.

I downloaded the free EFT manual and did a bare-bone introductory workshop in November 2000. In the ensuing months, I "played" with it by using it with clients and also with myself. To my amazement, this simple tapping technique worked consistently and effectively and often very quickly. About four months later, I watched Gary's early videos for the first time which filled in many gaps and greatly expanded my understanding of EFT. By mid-2001, EFT had became my primary technique and has remained so ever since. I gradually found that EFT is open-ended, that its potential is almost unlimited and that EFT can be used with just about anything. It worked with virtually any type of event, emotion, belief or issue, whereas I had previously used an array of different techniques for different types of issues. It became clear that EFT works at a deep and fundamental level.

I don’t remember when I first heard about Gary Craig, but I have vivid memories of our first meeting at a small workshop of about 25 people in Rockland, ME in 1996.

I had been introduced to tapping by attending a basic Thought Field Therapy class the previous winter with Fred Gallo, and had found the taping algorithms to be so successful with clients in my private counseling practice that I committed, at great expense, to three days of training with TFT’s developer, Roger Callahan.

I first came across EFT 11 years ago, when my hypnotherapy tutor asked if I would be his guinea pig, "for this strange tapping technique that I've just learned." I agreed and I was blown away by it. I learned about EFT from a friend who attended a seminar in Vancouver. My friend Tom released a back pain he had struggled with for a year in a one hour EFT presentation. Tom knew that I had been living with pain for years and told me to download the EFT Manual immediately.

In 1999 while attending the first international Energy Psychology Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, I attended my first Gary Craig EFT workshop. Afterwards, walking down a corridor with him, I said something like, “I love this work. I just wish I could teach it to others. So many wonderful memories and stories :-) Meeting Gary for the first time in May of 2000 after inhaling all the EFT videos with hundreds of pages of notes, talking with him about using EFT with children, being asked to participate in the Specialty Series, becoming a ‘Gary Groupie’ attending all but 2 of his EFT workshops from 2000 - 2007, being at his house with 13 others creating the EFT training guidelines (from which the www.EFT4PowerPoint.com program was modified).
